Figure

16 in. x 20 in. Oil on Canvas. First couple hrs with strappies by DKNY all up in my eye. These contours mimic the body no doubt, an intriguing fact about shoes that carry the essence of female beauty in their design.

First Moments with Fendi

Wet oil on canvas. Block in of a wondrous wedge by Fendi… just felt like goldfish to me. Early on but can already sense where we are headed.

Cage Sandals at home

Oil on Canvas. Cage Sandals in context. Size is important in a painting. I like the sweet 16 x 20 for its ample space to push around paint while it can fit well in an apartment and a cozy living space.

Object of Desire

20 in. x 20 in. Oil on Canvas. The elegant contours of these Jimmy Choo took over and evolved into a quieter painting sans the script lettering that one time filled the lower third. The curves of the shoes echo in the surrounding space to lead your eyes and create a symphony of shapes.

Jimmy Choo in Progress 2

20 in. x 20 in. Oil on Canvas. Shoes are so much like figures. Proportions are so important to believability. Masssaged the heel and back view of the shoe today, still not there yet in weight and proportion. Will get it right tomorrow. The arrangement of the shoes feel right in the square and pulls your eye around and around. I like the visual connection between the script and the straps. The line is a Toni Basil’s “Mickey” song reference for all us 80’s fans.

Wet Paint in Progress

Perfect Square 20 in. x 20 in. Oil on Canvas. “Oh Jimmy You’re So Fine”. Shoes that are the epitome of sexy by Jimmy Choo. I will post deets on the process. Laid a base of wet paint to push and pull the form in a loose discovery of the proportions and how it should fill the space. The thin black straps, luxe animal print and the soft camel-colored footbed are candy to paint.

bahamaMama

Fun size 8 in. x 10 in. Oil on Canvas. A cocktail with beautiful colors to paint that exude the feeling of a tropical vacay. Presented as moment to savor on a bed of palms and coupled with coconut halves.
