Such graceful animals in flight and amazingly clumsy on land moving around on a dock or a boat. Fun to watch and such a cool experience seeing them fight over scraps when the fishing boats pull in on Treasure Island. This was painted in watercolor Wednesday night May 16. The size is 9 x 12

Perched #4
Painted Yesterday May 12 – size is 11 x 14 in. and he’s a different pelican – this one has a rich brown neck, the color of the brown is a chocolate and maroon – great to mix and paint, his head is not the gold of the others
Dipping his bill
One of the first that I’ve painted in the water. Liked this shot of the pelican’s bill where the wet part is tinted lavender above the water line, and the tip is below the water.
Perched
Pelicans are made for watercolor- that figures, right? Dry brush on the wings and on the bill really works. This was painted Tuesday night 12 x 9 in.
Pelican series continued
A great pose. That spaghetti neck of pelicans is so cool. This watercolor is 10 x 12 in painted Monday April 30
